RELEASE December 13, 2007 Tonya Orlando Designs For Immediate Release Tonya Orlando Designs presents “The Fearless Shopper- Just ASK!” On November 13, 2007, the Oprah show presented a clip of Tonya Orlando as “The Fearless Shopper” and runner up in the Knock, Knock Nate home decorating contest. Tonya’s clip exhibits a beautiful décor, fantastic skill and the amazing faculties of a rising and promising home designer. This young and gifted upcoming design great knows how to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary places using artistic ability, and the power of asking. Tonya believes that when it comes to decorating there is no such thing as paying full price. She creates fabulous spaces without breaking the bank. “You can get a great high-end look without the high price, if you just ask.!” She masters the art of creative vision and intense determination to make marvelous artistic alternatives that overcome limited resources and provisions. Since early childhood, Tonya’s passion for the Arts developed from drawing for hours as a young child, visiting designer decorated new model homes ( known as ‘Dreaming’) as a youth, and graduating from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in 1992 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Apparel design. Tonya appreciates how different design areas have a symmetrical dimension that correspond and connect similarly and simultaneously. She has created custom art, furniture and apparel while also decorating homes around the country. In 2000, she launched TO Designs, a free-lance design company. She has many achievements to her credit including a national participant in the LEAD program for business leadership; an apparel intern at Liz Claiborne in NYC; a national contest winner to intern at SAGA Furs in Copenhagen; head designer for AACA; private label product manager for Mercantile Stores; marketing and development manager for addidas Kids international footwear; and free-lance shoe designer with sales in retail stores globally. TO Designs began in 2000 as a free-lance design business, after Tonya became a full time stay at home mom. Since then this designer’s shoes have successfully sold in retail stores globally and regular living spaces have been marvelously transformed into exceptional show places on the east coast; Portland, OR; Goleta, Santa Barbara, Ojai and Fallbrook, CA.
